A presentation about the luthier's job

Irene (2º D) has made an excellent job with this presentation about the luthier's job.

A luthier is the person who makes or repais STRING instruments.
She also brought some wood pieces and tools to the classroom to support the explanation about the fabrication process:

String instruments - I

This post is specially interesting for 1ºC and 1ºD. 

As we are studying the different sections of the orchestra, it could be very helpful to watch some videos about different string instruments:


  • Where are string instruments seated in the symphonic orchestra?

  • Let's start with the VIOLIN:


  • VIOLA. 
The viola is very similar to the violin but a bit bigger. 


  • CELLO




A different use of the cello:

  • DOUBLE BASS




Double-bass is very used in JAZZ:
