INTERVALS


  •  An interval is the gap between two notes.
To analyze an interval you must:

1. Tell the disctance:

second (2nd), third (3rd), fourth (4th), fifth (5th), sixth (6th), seveth (7th), octave (8th) and so on.

TEXTURE IN MUSIC




 TYPES OF TEXTURE:





  1. Monophonic - One melody without any accompaniment, for example, the Gregorian Chant (Middle Ages)




2. Polyphonic texture- Various melodies playing at the same time. It can be homophonic (all the voices play different melodies but with the same rhythm), counterpoint or melody with accompaniment.
